How the Scopus Journal Finder works

This free Scopus journal finder reads the abstract or keywords you paste and scores them against the aims-and-scope of a curated multi-publisher database of Scopus and Web of Science indexed journals. Matching uses term frequency, subject-category alignment, and field-level vocabulary, not simple keyword search. You get the top 10 best-fit titles in seconds, each ranked with a transparency score so you can see why it matched.

Quartile filtering lets you narrow results to Q1, Q2, or Q3/Q4 journals depending on what your committee, funder, or career stage requires. Each match shows the SCImago and JCR quartile when both are available, so you can spot the cases where the same journal is Q1 in Scopus but Q2 in Web of Science.

What does Q1, Q2, Q3, or Q4 mean?

Quartiles divide journals within a subject category into four equal groups based on impact metrics. Q1 is the top 25%, Q2 the next 25%, Q3 and Q4 the lower halves. A journal can be Q1 in one subject category and Q3 in another, so the field matters as much as the label.

Can I find open access Scopus journals with this tool?
